New Pre-release site up!
Its been a nice couple of days!, we’re getting ready to launch and we thought we needed to make the site look a little better, even though we will be fixing any rough edges we missed during the course of the beta.
While I designed the site myself, I wanted to give big thanks to two of our friends without who this final result would have not been possible, we got some design help/advise from my friend Fabio Sasso the great designer behind Abduzeedo as well as Bram Van der Sype from bramme.net for his great CSS work for the main site and the blog, he couldn’t have done a better job.
More updates to come soon.

ReadyStacks
ReadyStacks give you the ability to simply configure your redeploy with a few base options. Our goal with ReadyStacks is to give you the ability to redeploy a working development environment to your Webby with the least amount of configuration as possible.
As you select the different options you want for your next redeploy take into consideration that we have tested the install process to ensure they work correctly with each other but, if you select some options that just don’t work, we can’t perform magic. If it doesn’t work in the real world it isn’t going to work here in Webby Land.
There are a multitude of redeploy options within the ReadyStack section. We currently support the configuration and redeploying of Django, LAMP and Rails stacks. We are working on adding more options, such as the ability to deploy Rack based applications and adding more frameworks. Currently in the works we are building support for Merb, Ramaze, and Sinatra. These are all Ruby based, but we will add more as requests come in from our community.

Contributing to Abduzeedo
It seems my mixed knowledge will be of good use for our friends over @abduzeedo. I was invited by Fabio (founder of abduzedo) to write about some of the technologies we deal with everyday. I will be writing articles there every week! So I’ll keep those updated here on our blog.
Since I have a mixed background, I will try to bring a little bit of everything from the three subjects (Servers, Code & Design). Here’s a list of things I’ve thought about.
Servers: We’ll talk about, Getting a server up and running to serve sites and applications, ie, Apache, PHP, MySQL, Zend, Ruby on Rails, Django and Security.
Code: I’m a Rails developer, and use it for my work every day, so i’ll be posting some basic Howto’s on how to get your first application going, as well as useful resources I find.
Design: I’m not as a gifted designer as Fabio, but I have a good sense of design in applications, so i’ll share some Howto’s on how to create good ‘web-app’ templates, with CSS, Ajax, etc. I’ll also feature good WordPress, Drupal and Joomla templates I run into.
You can read the entire article here @ abduzeedo

Entrepreneurial Workaholic Syndrome (EWS)
Do you have EWS?
It may be contagious. It doesn’t discriminate based on where you come from or what you look like. And it has side effects that others around you will notice. Symptoms of EWS may include but are not limited to:
- Unable to stop working even when it’s five o’clock
- Forgetting what family and/or friends look like at times due to lack of
interactions - Hugely productive amounts of work produced
- Health deterioration (this may not appear immediately)
- Belief in the potential for great wealth
- Desire to change the world, business paradigm or similar
- Obsessing on some idea or work effort beyond what “normal” people would
- Hobbies also happen to be work related
- Belief the work practiced is an “art” not a science or easily duplicated activity
- Strong sense of self (maybe too strong at times)
- Money is a motivator but not “the” motivator
- Boredom from normal job activities is intolerable (others might enjoy just surfing the web or instant messaging their friends during the downtime)
- Not discouraged from failure and embraces business risks
- No desire to be “cured” of this affliction
Do you recognize any of these symptoms in yourself or others you love?
